Being a true introvert I love to read, always have, always will. In fact, I have at least two open books laying around in each room of my apartment. I can’t get enough of reading and learning new things. So the other day I asked you on instagram whether or not you would like me to share more book recommendations and over 300 people responded with yes - which I wasn’t expecting at all. But your wish is my command… Below I chronologically listed 11 books that have changed my life. I also took the time to link them to make it easier for you to find and buy them. Note that I only shared the English version because I don’t really read in German language. The last German book I have read probably was “Der Proceß” by Kafka 10 years ago in school, and between us, I didn’t exactly read all of it ;)

1) The Untethered Soul

The Untethered Soul is great book but requires a lot self-reflection and emotional maturity. I think if you are new to spirituality and yoga philosophy I would recommend to start with an easier read. But if you’re in deep, this is your book. There’s so much wisdom in this which helped me dive even deeper in understanding my unconscious and expanding on the love I have for myself. 2) You Can Heal Your Life

You Can Heal Your Life has been such a big eye opener for me. I read it for the first time when I started my yoga career and always came back to it over the years. Louise was so much ahead of her time and I can relate to so many things she taught. And yes, it is true, you can very much heal your life (but it takes much longer than taking antibiotics for a month but is also more sustainable in fact it doesn’t require any artificial substances). 3) The Dark Side of the Light Chasers

The Dark Side of the Light Chasers is all about Shadow Work. It explains why some people react the way they react towards you and what it says about themselves, eg: If someone gets triggered by you, there’s something that this person sees in you that they can accept about themselves yet. The Dark Side of the Light Chasers states that we are all the same on a soul level and that “good” and “bad” doesn’t exist. Moreover it is said, that everyone we meet is a mirror of ourselves and brings us one step closer to awareness and full consciousness. Nobody is your enemy, but everyone is your teacher. Highly recommend! Get your copy here

4) Letting Go: The Pathway to Surrender

I read Letting Go whilst recovering from my last surgery. As the title claims it really helped me to let go of all the things that didn’t serve me but also letting go of the things around myself that I can’t control. For instance, we cannot control other people, we cannot control other people to cater to all our needs. Letting Go is not a weakness, it’s a strength. The more you let go of all the things that are weighing you down, the lighter you feel and the more joy you can experience in your daily life. Get your own copy here

5) Material Girl Mystical World: A Now Age Guide for Chic Seekers and Modern Mystics

Material Girl Mystical World is a great book if you want to deepen your understanding on astrology and gives you an introduction to your own birth chart. Birth charts in my opinion are super interesting and most of the time super accurate. Your own birth chart tracks back how all the planets of our solar system where situated the moment you were born. 6) The Highly Sensitive Person: How to thrive when the world overwhelms you

The Highly Sensitive Person shows that being sensitive and empathetic isn’t bad and that society needs these kinds of people. It also includes a self-test whether or not you are a highly sensitive person and how you can use your qualities to your advantage. I am a high sensitive person as well and this book helped me understand that I am good enough the way I am. Get your copy here

7) Braving the Wilderness

If you know Brené Brown’s TED talks, you know she’s a master at being vulnerable and courageous. One of her thesis is “courage over comfort” to live a happier and more authentic life, saying “I love you first”, going for the things you really want even if there’s a possibility of failing… braving the wilderness all the way. 8) The Anatomy of Loneliness

I love Teal Swan’s work because she’s not a “spiritual bullshiter”. She states that you don’t have to be all rainbows and butterflies in order to consider yourself as a spiritual being. In fact she claims that really looking at your stuff, feeling your feeling instead of running away from them pretending to be “fine” beings you a step closer to awareness. In the book The Anatomy of Loneliness she talks about the fact the we as humans all crave connection but are feeling super lonely and disconnected in this time and age. Everyone craves to be connected and to be understood but we have forgotten over the years how to really open up to other people and instead hide behind our perfect masks and sweep everything else under the carpet. The Anatomy of Loneliness gives you an introduction how to open up again, although you were hurt and how to present your authentic self to the world. Get your copy here

9) Get your Shit Together

Get your Shit Together is an easy ready. Probably read in one sitting. It helped me to get more organized and distinguish between “TO DO” and “MUST DO” lists. And I’ve been super organized ever since. Get your copy here

10) Woman Code

Woman Code is a great introduction to female health. It gives an introduction to understanding our bodies better, what foods to eat, what foods to avoid. Definitively a good read if you are a woman. Get your copy here

11) You are a Badass at Making Money

You are a Badass at Making Money helped me to understand how I was spiritually blocking myself from making the money I deserve. It helped me to start manifesting more money with my own personal talents I have while learning to believe in myself even more. Get your copy here
