Tips for Clear Skin
No Makeup Day on Sundays - who’s with me 🙋🏼♀️? Never ever in a million years did I think I would post a no makeup + no filter photo of me on here. As my skin used to be so bad. And I’m not one of those who only struggled with skin problems during Highschool or my adult life. No it was pretty much throughout the entire thing. And I always felt super self conscious of it.
»My skin is still far from perfect and I still get breakouts sometimes and unfortunately I did get some scaring which I’m yet again a bit self-conscious of. But overall, I’m super happy I got this far.«
Truth is there’s no magic pill you can swallow and wake up with clear skin the next day. It also took me years of trial and error - testing out creams, diets & even Vitamin A and antibiotics- to figure out what works for me which I also believe is slightly different for everyone. As we are all unique.
But what does work is to become really, really conscious of what you put in and on your body and what differences it makes on your skin.
What makes me break out:
•picking my face
•over-cleansing, not enough moisture
•white sugar & brown sugar
•cheese
•coffee
•alcohol
•STRESS(!) & thus hormonal imbalances, when cortisol goes up so does estrogen.
What helps my skin to clear:
•balanced diet, finding a diet that works for your body type
•always eating at the same time
•lots of fiber
•balanced lifestyle
•having a routine
•gf oats
•nettle tea ☕️
•not using any harsh cleansing products (vegan&natural!)
•toner everyday (vegan&natural!)
•moisture (vegan&natural!)
•working out for happiness
•yoga & mindfulness
•kind words to self (affirmations)
•balancing your hormones (no birth control pill or other)
•Gua Sha every damn day for lymphatic drainage
But as I said it took me years to figure out what really works for me… There’s no secret pill - not even Vitamin A or antibiotics - trust me I’ve tried several times - they could actually even worsen your condition in the long run. So celebrate small wins along the way. Balancing your body doesn’t happen overnight. But it sure will and it also brings along many more benefits other than just clear skin ;)
